Tomorrow, When The War Began - Chapter 6
CHAPTER 6
What is the first sign that something is wrong at Ellie's house? That their dog usually barks when theirs a car coming or someone, but there was no noise at all.
Who is the first person to really realize what is happening?
Ellie.
What is Ellie's reaction to this person's caution? Why do you think she reacts this way?
She instantly thinks that something bad has happened to the dogs. The reason I think she has reacted this way because things weren't the same when she arrives home at things have already been strange since the start of Chapter 3.
How is the pace in this chapter really different from the chapters before?
It's different because of how many ideas have been made in this Chapter and this is when the reader actual get hooked up into it.
If you were in this situation, would you test the radio or not? Give reasons for your thinking.
I don't think so really, as I hardly use radios. Also, somebody could be tracking it while I use it.
Do you think the way the teenagers reacted to the realization that Australia may have been invaded or at war was realistic?
I think in a way it could have been realistic like another country invading them or something. This might be something that will likely to happen if things stayed the same.
What possible reasons exist that could spark war or invasions of Australia?
That there were strange planes flying above them at a very strange time and area. And how things have gotten more strange when they have arrived home.
Tomorrow, When The War Began - Chapter 5
CHAPTER 5
What does Corrie's choice in her career say about her character?Corrie's choice in her career says that she is very helpful and caring towards others. It shows that she wants to help those who are in need.
The group's ability to avoid arguing with each other is rare- do you think that there would have been more drama if you and your friends went bush for a week?
"Nah I don't know ayye!" Me and my friends don't even want to start any drama's like everywhere at school, shops, and Camp.
Why do you think Ellie and Lee feel uneasy just before their return to Wirraree from the bush?
I think Ellie and Lee feel uneasy because of the planes that flew above them and there were noises frightening them at night and they were worried that something really terrible is going to happen.
What do you predict will await the group back home, why do you think this?
I think something could be wrong as there will be no Wifi, food, or something worse than that like aliens coming to trash the Earth, something like that. The reason I think this is because of how strange Ellie and Fi thinks about the planes.
Tomorrow, When The War Began - Chapter 4
CHAPTER 4
Do you think the way they handled the snake incident was appropriate? What could they have done differently?
Yeah, I think it was appropriate and probably One of the safest way they could have done it without getting hurt. What they could have done differently was just like probably carry the back outside carefully and then maybe grab some snack or little bits of pieces of cheese and put them on the ground leading the snake to the bush without anyone or the snake getting hurt.
Ellie claims that 'Hell' is only a label and that people label things all the time, often ignoring or overlooking certain labeled places or things. She then comes to a conclusion that 'Hell was people'. Is she right? what's your opinion, on labeling and Hell?
I think Ellie is right in certain ways because people do name/label things without knowing what the matter is. Like 'Hell' I think they just went to a place thinking that it is very nasty and scary so they just name it 'Hell'.
What was especially peculiar about the planes that flew over Hell? 'Their ------, their ------, their ----- frightened me.' Do these characteristics have any significance?
What I find strange about these planes are their speed and noise, and how dark they were. Even Ellie explained that it is not normal to see planes going at that kind of speed with no lights at a very strange time, so it gave her a feeling that something is wrong.
Corrie and Kevin are the only couples in the group, but the trip was bound to bring the friends closer. So why does Homer's interest on Fi seem so odd to Ellie?
Ellie finds then odd because how different they are compared to each other, and Homer introduces himself as a pretty annoying person, also he never really talks about girls or even pay attention to them up until now.
Fi brushes off the planes coming back from the Commemoration day. Why do you think the planes were flying over Wirrawee?
Maybe it's part of the Commemoration day, or that it's a sign that something unfortunate is gonna happen.
Robyn claims there were dozens and dozens of planes flying over them. What is Lee's response? Is his suggestions reasonable?
Lee's response is that he suggested that it could World War Three. I think his suggestion is reasonably due to how many planes are flying above Wirrawee and how strange it is.

Tomorrow, When The War Began - Chapter 3
CHAPTER 3
Why does Robyn think they are the only people ever to have gone into hell?Maybe because he regrets coming to hell and learned that hell is not a good place to visit.
Why do you think the Valley is called Hell?
"I don't"
Why must the teenagers seem like visitors from hell to the wild things living in the clearing? how is this ironic?
Maybe because they know that they are loud and Kevin has poor ways of tearing branches off the trees.
What picture of Kevin do we get in this Chapter?
We notice that Kevin is a bit of an adventurist.
What does Ellie liken Fi to? Do you think this is a fair assessment of her character.
Ellie compares Fi to trying to eat junk food because her parent is so Healthy and strict on food. I think this is fair because Ellie gets the chance of eating noodles.
Tomorrow when the war began - Chapter 2
CHAPTER 2
How did the group of teenagers ascend Tailers stitch?By using one of their parent's Landrover.
What are two special events happening after the teenagers leave the bush?
They are the Commemoration day and the Wirrawee Show, Usually held on the same day.
How many days were they planning on staying?
They were planning on staying for five days.
How much food do you think is reasonable to bring, split between 7 teenagers.
For five days, seemingly 35 breakfast, lunch, and Dinner, and some snacks.
Who is the hermit and what is he supposed to have done?
Hermit comes from a story about a man killing his wife and children, then ran away to hell to hide away from whoever is seeking him.
Do you think the hermit will be significant in this story? Why/Why not.
Tbh, idk ayye, but I think if he shows up in this story, the character would probably be frightened.
Is their descent down satan's Steps into hell dangerous? What are the dangers? how could they have made it safer? What would you have done?
Of course it is. The number of them going down Satans steps are very dangerous and it could make them fall apart from each other. To make this safer, I recommend getting some cushions or something soft and thick and put it down the stairs to prevent them from falling off the steps. I would essentially do the same thing.
Predict what the bridge signifies.
I think it signifies that someone could have been to their because the bridge was constructed and that they aren't the only people that have been to hell.
Tomorrow when the war began
CHAPTER ONE
What are the advantages and disadvantages of first-person narration? An advantage is when you through the characters eyes and the way they feel in the book, but a disadvantage is that you can only see through one of the characters perspectives.
Why do you think Ellie needs to tell the story in chronological order?
So that they can be remembered (I think). Or to make the reader knows what order goes in and what happens everytime the event happens.
Pick one interesting word from the chapter, find it's meaning, and explain why it's interesting?
An interesting word that got me is Chronological, Chronological is following the order of which they occurred. This word is interesting to me because it sounds pretty cool.
John Marsden foreshadows several events and characters in this chapter. Make three predictions based on the evidence in the text about what may occur later in the story.
My First prediction is that during trips to hell they could get lost and someone might get hurt. My second Prediction is They could all end up separated and probably never be a whole anymore. My Third prediction they might end up regretting things like going on the trip so they probably head off back home.
What kind of story do you think Ellie is going to tell? use evidence from the text to support your answers.
Probably something interesting and pieces of information about Hell.
What set of skills do these characters have that convince their parents that they can 'go bush' independently. Find examples of three characters.
a skill of begging and persuading their parents to let them go and make their parents trust them that they can go without any parents or caregiver to look after them.
